FAQ
Is this screen recorder really free with no watermark?
Yes. ClipForge is completely free, adds no watermark, and needs no account. Recording happens entirely in your browser.
Does my recording get uploaded anywhere?
No. Capture uses the browser's native Screen Capture API and MediaRecorder. The video file is created and stored locally on your device — it never touches a server.
Can I record system or tab audio?
Yes. Enable “system / tab audio” and choose “Share tab audio” in the browser picker. You can also record your microphone at the same time.
Can I record on my phone?
Screen recording is a desktop browser feature (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). Most mobile browsers don't expose it — use ClipForge's other tools on mobile, and record on a laptop.
What format is the recording?
WebM (VP9/Opus), the browser-native format. Convert it to MP4 in one click with the Convert tool — also 100% on your device.
